About Us

Sangue Bom is run by two hard-working individuals; Dave Charley
and Chris Scarffe.
Dave Charley
Dave Charley is the original founder of Sangue Bom productions,
which literally means ‘Good Blood’ in Portuguese, and was Dave’s
nickname for his charitable efforts whilst working in
communities in Brazil. His benevolent spirit has helped shape
the Sangue Bom vision, which encompasses the community and
educational side of their work.
Dave arrived on Tofo Beach early in 2004 at a time when Tofo was
relatively unheard of within the diving community. His intimate
knowledge of the reefs is second to none, and he has worked
alongside broadcast companies producing breathtaking images.
Dave has successfully turned his passion into his profession,
and regularly produces dramatic and inspiring documentaries for
both national and international broadcast.
Chris Scarffe
After graduating with a Film & Media Honours degree from
Stirling University, Chris has spent the last 10 years filming
and diving in various locations around the globe. Numerous
broadcast productions have featured his footage.
Chris’s diverse filming and diving background saw him spending
two and a half years conducting technical dives whilst working
as an archaeological diver doing search, recovery, mapping and
filming work on historical shipwrecks, in cooperation with the
Malaysian Government.
After arriving in Tofo in early 2007, Chris’s
professional partnership with Dave has grown solidly in that
time. Between the two of them they have the experience of
thousands of dives and many years of film productions, both on
land and underwater. As co-directors of Sangue Bom, Chris and
Dave both share a passion for capturing unique and hard hitting
footage.
